Charming and Whimsical Figgjo Flint Dishes from Norway

I am really in love with colorful retro items as you all can probably tell! I didn't even know about this particular brand until a few days ago. I'm sad that it took this long to be aware of their existence! A lot of the Figgjo Flint retro dishes are great for summer. There are all kinds of designs ranging from vibrant, floral, to whimsical illustrations of Norwegian life! These are really charming and fun - let's take a look!

I like the little characters sitting back to back on this Turi sugar bowl. It claims it can be used as a mug, but since it doesn't have a handle I wouldn't risk it.

Look at how funky this Figgjo Flint leaf design plate is! All the colors are awesome. The sketchy shapes that make up the illustration are super cool.

I think you would be surprised at how much these two Figgjo Flint skillet pans might come in handy. They are apparently great to use on the stove and in the oven. Plus, the floral design is really groovy.

These retro Figgjo Flint salt and pepper shakers are a fun way to decorate your table, especially if you've been to Oslo. You can see the Oslo City Hall in the background of these shakers - including the waterfront.

I don't think I would ever use these antique egg cups, but I love the design. The colors are great for summertime and are definitely old school.

Can't you see drinking frosty cold milk from these Figgjo Flint Turi design Daisy milk cups? These are really rare and pretty!

In all honesty, I would normally avoid dishes that are olive in color. I surprisingly like this vintage ceramic pitcher. It's really earthy and great for fall and spring. I love the little scene being shown!

The deep dark reds and browns are really cool on this Morocco Figgjo lidded bowl. Is it just me or does the lid have a hypnotic effect?

If you're always in your kitchen, then this Flint Figgjo Turi Designs large ceramic shaker would be an awesome tool! Plus she's really bright and cute!

All of these playful dishes are fun for everyone! I'm so glad I ran into Figgjo flint retro dishes on Etsy. What are your thoughts on these dishes? Would you ever use them? Comment down below!

Stunning Spanish Garden Dishes from Midwinter

I have had quite a few gatherings at my place this summer and each time I felt like I was close to running out of dishes. Can you believe it? The other problem I am having is finding dishes that match my current teal decor. I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when I found these Spanish Garden dishes by Midwinter! Not only are the colors stellar, but I love the brand. These are truly a classic. Come take a look at this gorgeous set.

This Midwinter porcelain milk jug is great for my summertime and fall tea parties!

I think I'm accidentally creating a tea party scene in my head. I might as well have this vintage Spanish Garden trio handy for when the ladies come over. The flower embellishments are so serene!

Next time I have a party to go to, I would love to show off my cooking in this Midwinter casserole dish. It's very elegant and perfect for a gathering at any time of year.

These vintage bowls could be used for salad, pasta, or a very elaborate dessert.

The vintage Spanish Garden dinner plate is a great size and is beautifully decorated. It would be fabulous to serve dinner for my final summer party on these!

Clearly I would be using this retro mod coffee pot to make tea. I am already planning on using this to pour tea throughout the day at my desk.

Lastly, you can use these Midwinter Spanish Garden cups and saucers for tea or coffee. Imagine sipping from these on a warm morning amid your own garden!

I think these are great for all year around, especially spring and summer time. The colors are great for winter too. What do you think of this gorgeous set? Comment below!

Villeroy & Boch's Cheerful Acapulco Dinnerware Designs

Since I have been in gear for summer stuff, I've been on a mission to find vibrant looking antiques. I remember that Villeroy and Boch had an amazing Acapulco line that would be great for summer. I went over to pick my cousin up from her grandparents house one time during fall. They had set their table with this set and I always thought it was very fun. They had it decorated like this for a really long time. I remember thinking it was great, especially since we don't get a lot of vibrant colors in the Pacific Northwest. There are a bunch of pieces of Villeroy & Boch's Acapulco dinnerware sets on Etsy that you guys should come see!

As you all know by now, I love all things tea! I was very thrilled to see an Acapulco teapot or coffee pot. Now hosting a summertime tea session would be very easy.

Of course I will need this teacup and saucer set to match the teapot! I think sipping tea with friends outside out of these cups will set the summer mood. I could even use them throughout fall and even spring when the flowers start blooming.

This is a gorgeous trivet. If I were to buy the whole set of teacups, teapot, and saucers I think I would have to get this as well. I love the gold feet and rim. It really suits the pictures and would just glow in the sunlight!

I am sorry, but I feel like as I write to you I am convincing myself I need this whole set for myself! The pastry plates are clearly a necessity for summer brunches. I know that on Father's Day we will hopefully be sitting outside in the sun! For other parties, such as my tea party, this would be fantastic. I also like how the markings on this plate are different than the rest. Instead of it being in the center, the Acapulco design is just bordering the edges of the plate.

Every color of the rainbow is being used on this Acapulco salad plate. Each bird has such a pretty combination of colors! You can see in the art there is a lot of Mexican influence. I never considered the colors distracting you from your food, but as a salad plate this may end up confusing some people - like myself!

You can't have brunch with pastries without the butter. The Acapulco butter dish is incredibly radiant! I'd love to have a little Latin flair on my table, even if I just got this one thing. No one can have too many butter trays, they're used for almost every occasion!

As you can see, it is hard to pass up the whole set. If the table is done incorrectly, the Acapulco set could clash with certain colors or other sets. That's how they get you to buy the whole thing! I am trying to be good to my wallet, but there are so many great summer dining sets!

Check out more Villeroy & Boch's Acapulco dinnerware sets on Etsy. There are other plates, trays, and cups that you might fancy! Comment down below and tell me what you think of the design.

My 7 Favorite Vintage Asparagus Plates

I truly wish that asparagus plates never stopped being a fad. I guess I have a better appreciation for them since they aren't as common. On Etsy, there is a variety of asparagus plates that are incredible. The art and design of each one is fairly unique! I personally think they are quite useful - especially since they have little indentations where dips like hollandaise can go! For you, I have picked my 7 favorite retro asparagus plates.

The simplistic painting style on these French Sarreguemine asparagus serving plates is beautiful. The tray itself is great for having large groups of people over. By having the asparagus shapes embedded in the plate, you can easily avoid them rolling over the plate and onto the floor. I can't even count how many times that has happened to me. I do like the individual plates having their own place for their sauces. No need to over-complicate!

You could use these white asparagus platters during any time of the year. The plates themselves almost have a modern flair, but believe me it is definitely vintage! I don't want to sound like a pig, but I do like having multiple sauces on my plate when I eat asparagus if it is offered. I definitely love the fact there are two separate places for dips. I think the serving "basket" for the asparagus is very cute and would work pretty well for dinner parties.

I think that this artichoke and asparagus Majolica plate set is stunning. The blue, purple, and green hues all over are great colors for all year around. I do like the fact that you can have a place for artichoke and asparagus on this set. God knows how many times I've struggled keeping an artichoke on my plate! The art on the border of the plates is pretty fantastic, I've never seen anything like it before.

This is a very bold and straight forward set. The auburn French Majolica asparagus dishes really scream 60's to me. If you look closely at the plates you can see what looks like peacock feather designs lining the edges of the plates. It's actually quite a remarkable set and incredibly elegant. I can see the contrast between the green purple asparagus and the burnt orange would be a great combination.

I love how straight forward this antique French Sarreguemines Asparagus plates set is. There are very definite asparagus outlines on the plate, a very obvious section for your sauce, and the plates are a vibrant green color. Clearly, this is an asparagus plate! I put this in my top 7, because I really love the unique shape of this plate. Instead of everything being very rounded it seems more rigid. I thought it was different and enjoyed the very forward take on the design.

When I saw this early twentieth century asparagus plate set I instantly thought of spring. The colors aren't vibrant enough to be called summer. I do think that the edges look like the petals of a sun flower. I really enjoy how delicately painted it is. It's very artistic, but still fully functional! Of course, a bonus would be being able to use it for artichokes too.

The Gien artichoke and asparagus plate set is stunning. The artistic foliage impressions on the plates are really amazing. Not only that, but there are clearly separate sections on the plate that you could probably have a dip, artichoke, and asparagus on there all at one time.

For all these amazing vintage items, it definitely requires a lot of storage space that most of us do not have. I think that you could probably make an exception with these asparagus plates that are on Etsy. As a collector, there are very cool sets that could be set out for display, because not a lot of people know something like this exists!

Do you agree with my list? What are some of your favorite asparagus plates? Comment down below and tell us about it!

6 Stunning Vintage Turquoise Milk Glass Pieces

There is clearly a theme here. If you hadn't noticed, it's that I love turquoise, teal, aqua... all of those shades! I've had a few outdoor parties with my brand new outdoor entertainment set. Unfortunately I think there aren't enough teal or turquoise accents. I really enjoy the vintage turquoise milk glass pieces on Etsy. I think I'll have to get at least a centerpiece for my dining table, but there are many gorgeous options. Here are my top 6:

The design of this retro Fenton blue milk glass bud vase is stunning. Even though the opening is narrow and not terribly tall, you could still fit one or two gorgeous flowers in it. For some contrast, I would probably put in a large sunflower and use it as the centerpiece of the table. I just can imagine the sun shining through the glass and making it glow during these long summer days.

This Fenton hobnail cake stand is quite mesmerizing. June is wedding season so I figured this would be a fitting place for this cake stand. It's also great for future birthdays or other celebrations. I think the color and shape of this would make your cake stand out more than usual!

As I hover over the "add to cart" button, I'm trying to find reasons not to purchase this milk glass whiskey decanter. The spirals that decorate the outside and the cork really accentuate this piece! I feel like this shade of turquoise is a hard one to find.

Now this vintage turquoise milk glass footed bowl would be great for my outdoor set. I could put little candies in it or even cherries to serve. The color is beautiful and the flower carvings are perfect for summer.

This is such a funky square bowl. The waves remind me of the ocean, which could put me in a more summer mood. This would be a fun way to serve a dish or even displaying pieces of fruit during the season. It's a great collector item for those who love the atomic age!

I must admit I am a little in awe with this blue milk glass vase. The colors are gorgeous and it looks sturdy enough to live in the outdoors. What really amazes me is the design is a little unusual. It reminds me of a cocoon or an insect, but not in a creepy sort of way. It's just oddly alluring to me.

Do you agree with this list? There are plenty of other vintage turquoise milk glass pieces on Etsy. These are just my personal favorites! Comment down below and tell me what your favorite is!

Brand New Melamine "Atomic" Retro-Style Dinnerware

With all the warm weather we have been having, I have been doing everything outside. Not only that, but I just bought an amazing outdoor furniture set that I need to use. I don't want to bring all my glass or ceramic dinnerware outside, so I suppose I need to buy some melamine! These super cute vintage style "atomic" melamine dinnerware on Amazon are a perfect match.

The starburst pattern is one of my favorites. These 50's style salad plates are a blast from the past.

If I just got this oval serving bowl I would be a happy camper. By itself, it would add that vintage flair that I need to my outdoor dining set! For smaller dinner parties this would be helpful to have.

In order to match the salad plates I will need to get these dinner plates! Not only do they have the funky retro design, but they are oval shaped. I actually like how large it is! Whenever I have a barbecue I always end up spilling my corn on the cob because the plate is too small. This is the perfect size to be spill proof.

I like the style so much that it doesn't necessarily need to be melamine. Having a little tea party using these starburst cup and saucers would definitely be a hit! Also, I would love to just drink my tea out of this cute cup.

I want to have these atomic drinking glasses for everyday use! These are more colorful and fun than the glasses I have currently.

The last melamine plates I found are these diner boomerang plates. I'm dying because they don't match my outdoor decor, but I want them! They're so stylish and really bring me back to the good ol' days. Maybe one of you can provide a better home for these?

Check out more "atomic" melamine dinnerware on Amazon. Do you like the style? Tell me in the comments below!

Stunning Purple Tableware from Flora Gouda Holland

I am determined to keep Spring alive! I love the style of this Dutch Flora Gouda Holland - Lila series on Etsy. The color is so spring, but the design of the floral pattern is very retro. Take a look!

Can you see why I really enjoy the style of the floral pattern? The colors are very delicately painted, but compliment each other well. A purple ceramic bowl like this would be great for storing jewelry. I can also see myself using this for hot soups at parties.

I love baking and would love to display a cake using this footed bowl pedestal dish. It would be really fun to display a whole bunch of candy in as well. I actually wish the floral pattern was printed on the outside instead of the inside of the bowl. It's still stunning nonetheless.

I have never used a glazed ceramic tray like this before. I'm so glad the design is on the outside on this one! The shape is really interesting. It would be a cool way to store maybe your fruit for an outdoor get-together. I personally would use this for my jewelry, it's so funky!

Check out Dutch Flora Gouda Holland - Lila series on Etsy. This will surely add that spring feeling that you've been looking for!

My 5 Current Favorite Mid-Century Chip and Dip Bowls on Etsy

With Cinco de Mayo coming up, my mind is on chips, guacamole, and salsa lately! I'm enjoying browsing Etsy for mid-century modern chip and dip sets to peruse.

Turquoise is my favorite color, so I'm barely able to restrain myself from buying this lovely turquoise Atomic chip and dip bowl set!

I absolutely adore the harlequin diamonds on this chip and dip set.

Blendo made the most gorgeous cocktail and appetizer serving pieces during the 1950s! I love how the little dip bowl clips onto the top of the bigger one. It's amazing how many of these survived - it seems like it would be easy to break either the dip bowl or the hanger.

A lot of my relatives had Anchor Hocking pieces in their homes. Here's an avocado green chip and dip set. I love the curvy shapes!

This apple chip and dip set is something my mother would have loved. I feel like it's more late 60s early 70s than the other pieces.

After looking at all these, I'm now craving French onion dip too! How about you?

Gorgeous and Unusual Orange Atomic Art Deco Dishes and Dinnerware

These funky and very cool Orange Atomic Art Deco Dishes and Dinnerware by SusabellaBrownstein on Etsy are fabulous. I may be biased since one of my favorite colors is orange, but you just don't see these kinds of dishes anymore.

This ceramic Atomic Art Deco Coffee Set for 4 is from the 1930's. It comes with cups, saucers, triangle plates, creamer, sugar bowl, coffeepot with the lid. It reminds me of how history tends to repeat itself. They almost look so modern!

Honestly, a whole tea set might be too much, so the Atomic Art Deco Creamer & Sugar Set would be great to have. I like how they stack on top of each other. The shape of the set is really cool. I think the color just adds to its greatness.

Lastly, I really like this Dinnerware Set for 12. Look at how all the plates nicely line up on the table! Springtime is coming up and these would be great dishes for Easter or just for the season. They're beautiful!

It's definitely really cool to see what dishware looked like almost a century ago! Take a look at Orange Atomic Art Deco Dishes and Dinnerware by SusabellaBrownstein on Etsy.
