Charming Vintage Suzy Homemaker Toys

Tonight I'm having fun exploring vintage Suzy Homemaker toys by Topper Toys.

The Suzy Homemaker Super Ovens are smaller than they look in pictures. I love the teal color! They featured lights, working burners and working ovens. An early precursor to EZ Bake Ovens.

Here's another version of the Suzy Homemaker oven, from 1968.

The Suzy Homemaker blender really blended sodas and malts.

The Suzy Homemaker Ice Delight Maker let kids make what we would call "snow cones" nowadays.

I'm a bit skeptical about how well the Suzy Homemaker ice cream maker worked.

A stand mixer was part of their kitchen toys line, too.

As a kid, I don't think I personally would have been very excited by the Suzy Homemaker Supergrill.

Stunning Vintage 1940s Jewelry from DeRosa and Reja

This sterling fan brooch pin from Ralph DeRosa is likely from the 1940s, but seems to have an Art Deco 1920s look to it as well. I love the vivid blue stones!

Here's a lovely yellow lotus flower necklace by DeRosa - perfect for Spring!

This DeRosa brooch is described as "kite-shaped." It features faux emeralds and a cabochon. Love the color!

This lovely topaz flower brooch by Reja also caught my eye. I'm not sure I'm ready to become a brooch-wearing middle aged lady yet. Perhaps I'll wait 10 or 15 years and then start!

I am so enchanted with this ballerina pin and set of matching earrings. They're by the Reja company, sometime in the 1940s or 1950s.

Hope you enjoyed a look at these fabulous vintage jewelry pieces I found on eBay!

Lovely Jane Austen Figurine

I'd love to put this beautiful Jane Austen figurine on my writing desk or mantel for inspiration. This china figurine was made by Rockingham in England.

Lovely Retro Bread Bins

Living alone like I do, it's hard to eat up a whole loaf of bread in a week or so, before the bread becomes stale. I've been wondering if I should commit some counter space to a bread bin to help keep my bread fresh.

These retro styled bins are so cute, they're definitely tempting me!

I'm not interested in the boring ivory one, but I'm going to have a hard time choosing between the red and the blue, as my kitchen has pots and pans and kettles in both colors!

Darling House-Shaped Birdhouses for Winter

This Cape Cod birdhouse is so cute! I wish my real life house looked like this! It also reminds me of a little dollhouse I had when I was a young girl, though I suppose mine was more Colonial style.

The thatched roof on this birdhouse makes it look like a little storybook cottage.

This birdhouse is made to look like a farmhouse on the prairie.

This birdhouse is lightly painted yellow and depicts a little Victorian cottage. It's also available on eBay.

This vintage 1970s rattan birdhouse wouldn't withstand the elements in winter, but it might look nice hanging from your deck in the summer.

Here's a quaint little blue birdhouse.

Here's a birdhouse that depicts a different kind of house altogether: a little yellow schoolhouse!

I love the look of this freestanding Victorian birdhouse, but I'm afraid my rambunctious dogs would knock it over.

This birdhouse looks like a cross between the White House and the Capitol building.

Delightful Book-Shaped Bento Boxes

I love this concept! Here's a bento box shaped like a book!

The book opens up to reveal two separated compartments for your lunch.

Wouldn't this make a great gift for your librarian or bookstore employee friend?

The box comes in several different designs. My favorites are the Peony Red and Peony Black.

These book shaped bento boxes are microwavable, too!

Beautiful Electric Kettles from Bella

I serve a lot of hot tea in my house. I'm very tempted by these attractive electric kettles, but can't seem to choose between them!

Darling House-Shaped Bento Lunch Boxes

These are too darling! I am screaming! I can't even think of a legitimate excuse to buy one of these house-shaped bento boxes since I work at home and don't need to carry a lunch box. Maybe I can show up at a spring picnic with one of these though, hrm!

They make one in pink too! It's also sold on eBay.

The house-shaped bento boxes are microwavable (except for the roofs).

This bento box is shaped like a little cabin. I love that it shows smoke coming out of the top of a chimney!

Here's a similar red brick house with smoking chimney.

This white house bento box is sold on eBay.

This bento box depicts a sake shop in Japan.

This bento box is made to look like a Japanese green tea house.

There are several more house-shaped bento boxes offered on eBay.

Find multiple variations on these houses on Amazon. Each one comes with a cold pack.

Quirky and Whimsical Purses from Mary Frances

This fabulous purse by Mary Frances is called "Time and Time Again." It depicts a gold pocket watch or clock face. This would have been perfect for New Year's Eve!

A purse shaped like a vintage camera? I love it! This is called "Snapshot."

This is Mary Frances' "Buddha Bliss" purse. I'm not sure if it's considered disrespectful to walk around swinging a Buddha Head full of money and your lipstick, though.

Lately I've been rather obsessed with house-shaped things, so I am literally squealing over this Mary Frances house handbag. So cute!

"Ship Shape" is her new bag for the 2015 "Resort" season.
